| Hello! My name is Nettie Neufeld, and I have the privilege of serving in Gospel Partner Relations with The Cross Current. My role is centered on caring for and cultivating relationships with our current and new Gospel Partners, faithfully encouraging them in Christ while praying with and for individuals and families as they share their prayer requests and praises. One of the greatest joys of my role is connecting with believers, hearing how God is at work in their lives, and encouraging them through prayer. I have a deep love for Christ’s people and a passion to see believers thrive in their walk with Him. My desire is not only to pray for others, but to encourage and model a life of prayer so that more believers would confidently draw near to our faithful Heavenly Father. There is no greater joy than communing with the God who, through Christ, has welcomed us into His presence. |

| Why Should We Pray? Scripture calls us to “continue steadfastly in prayer” (Colossians 4:2). Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been reconciled to God and invited to approach our Heavenly Father with confidence. What an incredible gift that the Creator of heaven and earth not only hears the prayers of His children but delights when they draw near to Him. Prayer is not merely something we do for God—it is the gracious means He has given us to know Him more deeply, depend on Him more fully, and join Him in the work He is accomplishing in the world. As we continue steadfastly in prayer, God shapes our hearts to love what He loves, strengthens our faith to trust Him more fully, gives us wisdom for every circumstance, and reminds us of our continual dependence upon Him. We do not pray because God is unaware of our needs, but because He lovingly invites His children to depend upon Him and participate in His work. Prayer changes us as God graciously conforms us more and more into the image of Christ. As Charles Spurgeon often emphasized, prayer is not a small or secondary part of the Christian life—it is the means by which God strengthens His people and advances His purposes. A phrase often attributed to Spurgeon says: “Prayer moves the arm that moves the universe.” |

| | What a beautiful reminder that when we pray, we are not simply offering words into the air. We are coming before the sovereign God who hears, acts, and accomplishes His will through the prayers of His people. Prayer is also one of the primary ways we participate in God’s mission. Before we ever speak to people about God, we first speak to God about people. As we faithfully pray, He prepares hearts to receive the gospel, strengthens believers to proclaim Christ with boldness, and reminds us that salvation belongs to the Lord. Every gospel conversation, every ministry opportunity, and every life transformed by Christ is ultimately His work. |

| | Pray for the Church in Canada: Pray that believers would remain steadfast in God’s Word, walk in holiness, be united in the gospel, and boldly proclaim Christ in their homes, workplaces, churches, and communities. |

| | Pray for me: Pray that I would faithfully care for our Gospel Partners with humility, wisdom, and compassion; continue growing in prayer; and encourage believers to deepen their confidence in Christ as they draw near to Him in prayer. |
