THE IMPORTANCE OF GOSPEL PARTNERSHIPS

The gospel must be preached—and what a blessing it is to proclaim it alongside other like-minded brothers and sisters who have a passion to see it go forth in the power of the Spirit! The Lord has richly blessed the ministry of Thornloe Crossroads Baptist Church, and all the glory belongs to God alone. We plant, but God gives the increase.

Leading By Grace

To the best of our ability, we, as elders, have tried to foster an environment at TCBC that puts no price on the truth, prizes the gospel, elevates the cross, rejoices in the grace of God, gives opportunities to serve, passionately pursues the Lord, stays focused on the mission, and recognizes the importance of challenging one another and spurring one another on to love and good works. To be clear, we have not done this perfectly! We are sinners saved by grace, and have therefore made our share of mistakes along the way.

God is Faithful!

But God—God is faithful. He has been faithful to build us up, and oh, how exciting it is to see what He is doing in our midst! People are serving and getting involved in all kinds of ways: facilitating small group discussions, joining the worship team, devoting themselves to prayer, helping out a brother or sister in need, holding a friend accountable, teaching Sunday school, showing hospitality, and taking on various leadership roles, to name just a few. It’s a true joy for us as leaders to be able to see God working through His people as they serve one another and use the gifts He has given them for the building up of His church.

An Equipping Evangelist

One significant development that has occurred over the past couple of years—which we are extremely thankful for—concerns a dear brother who has taken on an evangelistic role within the church. At first, he initially expressed to the elders his hesitancy about evangelism, explaining that it wasn’t something he felt called to. Nevertheless, not long thereafter, we asked him to reconsider.

After spending time seeking the Lord’s will in prayer, he humbly accepted the call to lead by example in this way. And thankfully, through our partnership with The Cross Current, we didn’t have to train him ourselves! With the help of Cory McKenna graciously stepping in to provide leadership and direction, we have seen significant growth in our brother as he serves the church and our community in this capacity.

The Importance of Gospel Partnerships

As we continue to do the work of evangelism and discipleship, we recognize the importance of partnering with like-minded churches and ministries. We deeply value these healthy gospel partnerships, and we are especially thankful for our partnership with The Cross Current (TCC). May God grant us grace in these days to stand firm in one spirit, with one mind, always striving side by side for the faith of the gospel—until He returns! Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!

Because Canada needs Christ,

Pastor Curtis

  • Please pray for God’s great grace to continue resting on Pastor Curtis, Brian, and the entire church family of TCBC.

  • Please pray for God to ground and grow the members of the EETN, our new Equipping Evangelists Training Network.

  • Please pray for God to move the hearts of His people to give generously in response to TCC’s year-end appeal.
