You never know when a simple conversation can become a divine appointment.

A DIVINE APPOINTMENT AT RONA

A couple of minutes later, I looked down into my cart and noticed my phone sitting inside. But as I looked closer, I realized it wasn’t my phone!

I turned around to find Betty (not her real name) coming up behind me asking, “Are you trying to steal my cart?”

We laughed, and I had the perfect opportunity to ask her if she wanted to know what my friend and I had been talking about. I told her it was our favourite topic.

Her hesitation gave me the opportunity to simply say, “Jesus.”

I asked if she knew who Jesus was, and she reached up, pulled the cross from around her neck, and showed it to me.

“Terrific!” I said. “Do you read the Bible?”

She told me she used to.

Louie was still on the phone and could hear our conversation perfectly. I reminded Betty that we can know God and grow in His wisdom as we consume His Word. Jesus is the Bread of Life.

I shared some biblical encouragement with her, and thankfully, Betty didn’t try to escape the conversation—sometimes that happens! 😊

I asked if she had a Bible at home. She said she did, so I gave her the 21-Day Gospel of John Challenge: one chapter and about five minutes a day for 21 days.

  • Please pray for Cory and Dan as they attend the Ambassadors’ Academy in Los Angeles with Ray Comfort and the Living Waters team. Pray especially for Cory as he teaches a main session, “Multiplying Evangelism through Making Disciples.” May the Lord use this time to deepen their passion for the lost, strengthen them, and further equip them to multiply gospel workers who faithfully make disciples.

  • Please pray for the Lord to also continue leading more listeners and multiplying more ministry through The (new!) Gospel Unity Podcast with The Cross Current.

  • Please pray for Cory and Dawn as they travel to Northern Quebec to serve at Thornloe Crossroads Baptist Church’s Family Camp. Pray for safe travel, strength, and good connections with those attending the camp. Ask the Lord to use their time together to encourage believers, strengthen families, and create opportunities for gospel conversations. Pray that Christ would be glorified and that His Word would bear lasting fruit in the lives of everyone attending.
