HELLO!

My name is Dan Anderson, and I am honoured and excited to be joining Cory and The Cross Current in the work of equipping the church for the advancement of the Good News of Jesus Christ in Canada. As Church Leader Relations with TCC, I will serve to establish and develop supportive relationships with leadership teams (pastors/elders) in our growing network of partner churches.

I have been engaged in pastoral ministry in the church now for close to 20 years after working in the private sector as a small business owner.

2007

In 2007 I was invited to join the staff of a small but growing church in London.  

During my time there, as the church grew, I was privileged to have many opportunities to serve in a variety of ministry roles; greeting & guest services, youth, and young adults. But the majority of my time was spent leading and developing Adult Ministries, that is, small groups and men’s and women’s ministry.  I am so thankful for those years of seeing God at work growing His church and transforming His people!

2015

In 2015, life took quite a turn for my wife Carolyn and I.  I got a call from a former colleague who had moved to Victoria BC and he asked if I would consider moving out west to join him on staff.

I was hesitant at first but God does what He wants!  And, long story short, we ended up going west and moved to Victoria BC, where I served as pastor for 9 years until our return to Ontario in the spring of 2024.

ENCOURAGEMENT

Cory and I met in 2007 (while on church staff together in London) and have maintained a friendship since that time.  I love what God has done through Cory and Dawn and TCC through the years.  

It was great to watch, from my seat on the sidelines, as God shaped TCC over the years into the great force for evangelism that it has become and the heart for the local church that Cory has cultivated in this organization.  And now, I am thankful to have the opportunity to join TCC in their excellent work!

Jesus said I will build my church and I have seen that that is true.  Over the years, I have witnessed a God who calls unlikely people together and does amazing things with them.  It’s crazy what happens when a group of people dedicate themselves to Him and dedicate themselves to reaching the lost that God has put around them in their lives.  Jesus said that He came “to seek and save the lost” and when churches take up that work, unite together in the work of the Great Commission, and together, with one voice “proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”… in this world so shrouded in darkness well…God will do in and through them what only He can do.  He will make a way where there is no way, He will call into existence things that are unimaginable, and He will raise the dead to life.  I have seen it, and I hope you have too!

MY HOPE

It’s my hope that God will use me to help TCC, to help strengthen and equip local churches to unify in gospel; to encourage and help elders and pastors bring their people together in establishing a culture of outreach, evangelism, and invitation in the church as a whole. In doing so, my hope is that they will find the joy and fulfilment that comes when God’s people, together, shine the light of truth and call the world to come and see, to come and know our God and his son, our great savior and King, to come and be adopted into His family.

Jesus promised that He would build His church and it’s my privilege to be a part of His great work through TCC.
