An Extreme Canada Day

The 2011 Ottawa Extreme Team Missionaries

This past July 1st, a team of over twenty local missionaries engaged the crowd of over 500,000 who were gathered in our nations capital to celebrate Canada Day and to greet royal newlyweds William and Kate on their very first trip together overseas as a married couple.

Not only did our little extreme team of evangelists preach the Gospel open air and witness one-to-one to hundreds of people of all cultures, but we also collectively passed a record number 34,700 tracts too!

While our team of regular witnessing warriors were onsite together in Ottawa, we also used this high profile event as an opportunity to equip several new evangelists as well.

Here is a testimony from Mona Pinilla, one of our newest Extreme Team missionaries:

It was Pastor John Piper who said: “Missions exist because worship doesn’t”. I long to see lost people turn to him, repent from their sins, and believe the Gospel. My Father has given me the desire to be used as an instrument in the fulfillment of The Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-21). Seeing The Cross Current in action has been a huge blessing; it has nourished my passion for evangelism by allowing me to see bold godly men preach the word. Canada Day, July 1st was a special day because I got to receive some more training from TCC as we preached on the streets of Ottawa. With the Lord’s guidance and strength I stepped out in faith to share the gospel with several people, three of whom I am currently following up with via e-mail. May the Lord change their hearts and bring them to repentance. I am thankful for all I am learning through TCC.

A very special thanks to evangelist Paul Latour and pastor Robert Doble of Parkdale Baptist Church for giving leadership and direction to this outreach!

Though our summer witnessing schedule has kept our media team “beyond busy”, we do expect exclusive video footage of the 2011 Ottawa Extreme Team Mission (XTM) to be available on TCC TV soon!

Equipping Youth on a Mission

For the past 4 years, TCC has been invited to equip teen aged students at a very specialized conference called CYWAL (Christian Youth Worldview And Leadership).

Left: The CYWAL class of 2011 boards the bus bound for their field witnessing trip

This is a very rigorous week of worldview and apologetics training designed to prepare senior teens for life and ministry in the real world. Featured speakers/ministries include: Ravi Zacharias International, Creation Ministries International, Truth Matters, and several others. Our contribution to the conference is to “bring truth to life” by leading the students to the streets in effort to apply their jam-packed week of apologetic training in real-life witnessing scenarios.

On Thursday July 28th, Cory McKenna conducted a 2-hour “lite” version of our 8 session DVD-based Witnessing Workshop training at the Crieff Hills Conference Centre in Cambridge, Ontario. The students and TCC evangelists then boarded a bus and hit the streets of Guelph, Ontario that same afternoon for some hands-on life and witness training.

The last day featured a TCC “Preachers Panel” with the following TCC evangelists of various ages and experience levels answering the students’ questions: River Ayton, Steve Hodge, and Cory McKenna.

Cory also lead the closing session of the conference called “Chiseling a Champion”, which was designed to provide students with the tools and resources they need to continue championing the cause of the Gospel within their own respective churches and youth groups.

Special thanks to all those experienced evangelists who took time out of their busy summer schedules to serve as street team leaders. By God’s grace, your investment into the lives of His precious young followers will bear fruit forever!

CYWAL offers student training in worldviews, apologetics, evangelism, and leadership. For more information, visit: www.cywal.org

NEW! Extreme Team Missions teaser video

Are you looking to take your witness for Christ to the extreme?

TCC Extreme Team Missions (XTM’s) are local missions day trips into major urban centres for the specific purpose of preaching the Gospel through high volume tracting, one-to-one street witnessing, and open air preaching.

XTM’s allow participants to fully leverage the local missions experience of The Cross Current and receive personal mentoring from some of the most experienced evangelists and open-air preachers in Canada.

Not only will XTM’s catalyze your own personal life and witness for Jesus Christ, but these events also provide the team equipping experience you need to continue championing the cause of the Gospel in your own local church.

TCC Radio airing irrefutible proof that God exists!

In last month’s E-Tools Newsletter, we gave testimony of how thankful we were that our gracious and sovereign God connected us with a presuppositional apologist by the name of Sye Ten Bruggencate of Sinner Ministries.

What’s perhaps most mind-blowing is that God would have our team fly five hours across the continent to L.A. only to have us meet a renowned apologist who actually only lives only five miles from the home of TCC Founder, Cory McKenna!

Well, we’re also very excited to report that Sye will soon be joining us in the studio (and maybe even on the street!) for a very special apologetic series of TCC Radio.

Here is an excerpt from Sye’s website, www.proofthatgodexists.org, and the synopsis for our upcoming radio series together:

You have likely heard that it is impossible to prove that God exists. You have heard wrong. Not only can the existence of God be proven, denying the proof undermines rational thought. It is true that God does not need anyone to prove His existence. The Bible teaches that the existence of God is so obvious that we are without excuse for denying Him. In this shocking series of TCC Radio, we will be working with Sye Ten Bruggencate of Sinner Ministries both in the studio and on the street to air irrefutible proof that God exists in addition to what you already know (and may be suppressing).

This special series is scheduled to air in September, so stay tuned!

Your Prayer Pulse for August
