Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” ~ Matthew 9:37-38

It’s strangely encouraging to realize that Jesus Himself shared the same problem we have during His earthly ministry: not enough laborers! Well, after years of praying earnestly to the Lord to send more harvest workers, our prayers are now being answered…in DROVES!

This past Friday September 30th, no less than 8 brand new harvest workers enlisted in our weekly extreme team witnessing mission!

Further, for the first time in the history of The Cross Current, the lady evangelists actually outnumbered the gentlemen! While this is a very exciting milestone for our ministry, it certainly reinforces our need for qualified female mentors to facilitate this growth.

What makes this testimonial even more encouraging is the fact that the first half of the evening brought pouring rain and high winds – yet the Lord still moved the hearts of His people to come together to pray and then preach His precious Gospel!

After we scattered in the streets to share Christ one-to-one with all those the Lord brought across our paths, our team re-connected in the downtown core outside the John Labatt Centre to preach the Gospel open air to the thousands of passer-byes exiting the London Knights hockey game.

Right: Cy Chapman “breaks the sound barrier” by preaching the Gospel open air for the very first time

Not only were were our newest team members radically impacted by their first experience sharing the Good News with the lost and dying in the Lord’s harvest in London, but two more evangelists “broke the sound barrier” by preaching the Gospel open air for the very first time!

Congratulations to Cy Chapman for “kickin’ it old school” by faithfully proclaiming Christ open air in the public square!
