Hi again! This is Cory and here are your for making the most of Part 2 of our new series of TCC Radio called “Love Endures”.

Off the top – make sure to check out last week’s message here to get your hands on the interview questions we used on the streets to break the ice, build relationship, and share the Gospel throughout the production of this series.

OK, let’s talk about how you can invite your family and friends to tune in to hear this week’s adventure in everyday evangelism from the streets with

This week yours truly talks with Darren – an intellectual spiritualist who claims that there are many ways to God and a “better place”. Now, Darren was so gracious to openly and honestly share his thoughts and beliefs with me and, believe me, we covered a lot of ground throughout our half-hour conversation! From God’s love…to God’s holiness…to God’s law…to God’s grace…to C.S. Lewis…and everything in between!

Inviting your prayer list to tune in this week has never been easier! Simply say something like this to them: “Hey, have I ever told you about this wild reality radio program – and soon to be television program – that I am affiliated with that invites average, everyday people to take part in a spiritual speakers corner-type conversation? They also talk about hot topics in the culture and also the BIG question of life: where will you spend eternity? Do you ever think about that sort of stuff?”

From there you can tell them that you respect their viewpoint and would really appreciate if they would tune in to the show this week so you can talk about it afterwards! Make sure to let them know that it broadcasts every Friday at 7pm on Grace 105.9 FM in London and on www.thestreamTV.com out of Orangeville and it also podcasts on tccradio.com.

Please also send us your Gospel glory stories and personal adventures in everyday evangelism to radio@thecrosscurrent.com! You never know, we may even publish them on our blog – with your consent, of course!

We thank God for you and pray that He gives you His strength and wisdom to be His witness in your own personal mission field again this week!

“All you need is love, love, love is all you need.” So John Lennon says, but is that really true? Well, what better time to find out than during the month of love – February? And that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Hi, this is Cory and here are your for making the most of Part 1 of our new series of called “Love Endures”.

The Bible says that “God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” and that He “shows us love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Clearly God so loved us and shows His love, yet He is also holy, righteous, and just. How does that all work?

Well, in effort to intentionally invite your loved ones to listen to the show this week so you can talk about it with them afterwards, feel free to invite them to invite them to participate in a short “spiritual survey” for a reality radio show that you are affiliated with! Here are the inquisitive ice-breakers we used on the streets that we trust will be as effective for you as they were for us:

1. How would you define love? In your opinion, what makes a person “lovable”?

2. I’m sure you love someone, don’t you? In your thinking, what exactly makes you love that person?

3. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s something really big that you would do for that person with no questions asked?

4. Would you consider yourself “lovable”? Why or why not?

5. A recent magazine add cited the Taj Mahal in India as the “ultimate symbol of love”. What do you think the ultimate symbol of love is?

From there you can either share with them why the Cross is the ultimate symbol of love or simply invite them to tune in to with you – broadcasted this Friday at 7pm on Grace 105.9 FM in London and on www.thestreamtv.com in Orangeville and also podcasted on www.tccradio.com.

Again, we sincerely invite you to send us your Gospel glory stories to radio@thecrosscurrent.com. You never know, we may even publish them here on our blog – with your consent, of course!

We thank God for you always in our prayers and let’s pray for His grace, favour, and truth to rest on our collective labour for Him again this week!

Canada needs Christ.

Hi, this is Cory McKenna, founder of The Cross Current and host of . This week – for the very first time – we’ll be broadcasting and podcasting a special episode of the program that we pray will be an encouragement and challenge for Christians and their churches.

As most of you listening know, The Cross Current (or TCC) is a local missions ministry and outreach broadcast bringing glory to God’s Name in Canada by unifying His Church in His Gospel. We help pastors equip all Christians under their care to be His witnesses everyday, everywhere, to everyone, as one body serving in accordance with the various gifts God has given each.

Why do we have our hearts specifically set on Canada? Because Canada needs Christ!

Do you know it’s estimated that less than 2% of those under 30 in Canada currently attend church? We praise God for overseas missionaries! But as you look across your own community and country, there’s also much missions work to be done locally for the Lord – right here at home.

Please – if you only ever tune into one episode of – make this one the one. And please also invite any other Christians you know who are burdened with partnering together to share the hope of the Gospel right here at home.

This week we’ll be giving you a compassionate yet candid snapshot of the types of conversations we have about Christ on the streets of Canada every week with people who were born and raised in Canada.

As usual, the show will be broadcasted this Friday at 7pm on Grace 105.9 FM in London and podcasted online at www.tccradio.com anytime afterwards.

Oh, and also make sure to visit our blog at www.thecrosscurrent.com/blog to see a picture of two young men featured on the show named Brandon and John and to hear the full length version of the conversation I enjoyed with them as well.

Thanks again for your ongoing support! We pray God’s blessing on you for your generosity and please pray for His favour on our local missions work for Him.

Because Canada needs Christ.

Welcome again to your for making the most of and our fourth and final episode of our transformational series on hope!

Click here for the audio version of this same message (2:38)

As we hope to give you quick tips for building bridges of conversation to invite your family and friends to tune in to this week’s program, let me share with you our lead script writer’s notes about it. Here’s what he says:

Our hope is not in bettering our condition. Our hope is not in changing our situation. Our hope is not even in reckoning on the facts of our faith. Our hope is that Jesus is coming to take us away to be with Him and give us eternal life with Him in glory!

Wow! How true! And with that in mind, here’s how you can use Hope – Part 4 as an ice-breaker and bridge-builder towards talking to those on your prayer list about salvation…

We would suggest that you find conversational common ground using the huge event of Barack Obama’s inauguration. You might say something like this: “Hey, why do you think that this Barack Obama inauguration event is so greatly anticipated?” Let them answer and then you can say something like: “The media is actually saying that people have a ‘reverence’ for Obama like no other president before because they are buying into his hope for his next 4-8 years in office. What’s your hope for the next 4-8  years?” Again, let them answer and then ask: “What’s your hope for the next 80-100 years?” They’ll likely say something like: “I’ll probably be dead then!” If/so they do, simply respond by asking: “Oh! Well, where do you think you will be then?”

After you take the time to dialogue about matters of eternity, you can let them know that you are affiliated with a wild reality radio show that surveys people on the streets about the spiritual aspects of what’s up in the world – and this week they are talking about hope!

Simply invite them to tune in to with you – broadcasting this Friday night at 7pm on Grace 105.9 FM in London and podcasted at tccradio.com anytime afterwards – so you can talk about the show together. Please also remember to send us your Gospel glory stories to radio@thecrosscurrent.com.

Thanks in advance for your partnership in the Gospel! Let’s humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord and may He graciously lift us up to that place whereby we will unashamedly share His Word with another lost someone that He has placed in our lives this week!

Welcome again to your for making the most of and Part 3 of our series on hope!

Click here for the audio version of this same message (1:48)

This week we’ll be taking you onto the streets with us to experience a full length interview with a young man named Dan about his idea of the world’s idea of hope and God’s idea of true hope – which is only found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

And here’s how you can use the show as an evangelistic ice-breaker to invite people to tune in and listen so you can talk about God more together over coffee afterwards.

Our advice is to again pick one of the countless news items you’re hearing about like the economy , the war, the government, etc. and ask the non-Christians in your life how they have hope based on what’s going on in the world. Then you can ask them where they think true, lasting hope comes from?

From there you can let them know that you are affiliated with a very entertaining and informative reality radio show that surveys people on the streets about the spiritual aspects of what’s going on in the world – and this week they’re talking about hope!

Simply invite them to tune in to with you – broadcasted this Friday at 7pm on Grace 105.9 FM in London and podcasted at tccradio.com anytime afterwards so you can talk about the show together afterwards – and again please, please, please make sure to send us your Gospel glory stories to radio@thecrosscurrent.com.

I trust you know that all of us here at TCC thank God for you and pray that He will be your source of strength, grace,  and truth as you reach out in the matchless Name of His Son this week!
