T4G2010 | The Unadjusted Gospel

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Our team is TOTALLY STOKED about our trip to the Together for the Gospel Conference on April 13 – 15, 2010 in Louisville, Kentucky! What better place for our little army of preachers to sharpen our swords for a few days?

Here’s where their website says that we’re headed together at this conference:

The (Unadjusted) . That’s a topic worth thinking about for several days with several thousand other pastors and church leaders. Don’t you think?

The good news does not adjust. It’s always the same and it’s always good. Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever proclaims a message that’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.  So should we.

We hope you will join us in Louisville April 2010 to think about that message and why it’s the heart of ministry.

Amen! We have to continue defending and confirming the unchanging truth of the that those who have gone before us have died to preach!

Are you interested in coming together for the in April 2010? This conference only happens every two years…so please consider joining us! You never know…maybe…just maybe…we’ll spill out onto the streets of Louisville afterward to see the power of our foolish preaching in action!

Hey Christian! Does death scare you? It should.

Death. Does it scare you? It scares Clayton…for all the RIGHT reasons.

Clayton’s Story

In light of Clayton’s clear, and sobering wake up call to preach the , I encourage you to meditate on 3 key Scripture verses:

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Hebrews 2:14-16

2 Timothy 1:8-14

God has set eternity the hearts of people. People know they will one day die and they live in bondage to the fear and uncertainty of where they will go after they’ve breathed their last. The Good News for all those who have truly repented and put their faith in Jesus Christ alone is that He has brought us life and immortality to light through the ! Believe it. Know it. Share it. For IT IS their only hope.

PS: Clayton McDonald died on March 16th, 2009.

IN GOD WE TRUST

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

Charles Spurgeon said “The power of the does not lie in the eloquence of the preacher” for that would be the wisdom of men. In 1 Cor. 2 1-5  the emphasis of Pauls preaching is the redemptive plan of the Christ crucified, and fear and trembling (anxiety) for something urgent. Paul puts faith in GOD and not in his own opinion, no enticing words or persuasion, just Gods transforming Power. I Praise God that I have been privileged to witness  Gods Power at work this week.  I challenge all whom are able to join us in proclaiming the of Jesus Christ and walk with us in prayer and witness into this mission field which is our very own back yard. Thank You to all active participants in the TCC and a special thank you to the men of teen challenge whom have put on the armour of God, stepped onto the battlefield living in victory and not defeat.  Please read Cory’s selected passage for this week   2 Chronicles  20, 1-30

Gods word says that his faithful love endures forever. Knowing the Lord seems relativeley easy, TRUSTING in him is much more difficult. my prayer is for us to Trust in him in all we do and say, through prayer, action and his spoken word. May the Lord Bless all of you for your service and obedience.

Chapter 66 of the book of Isaiah begins with “thus says the LORD:  Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest?  All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD.  But this is the one to whom I will look:  he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.

The living God is awesome.  He is high and exalted, declaring to use the earth as a footstool.  He speaks; He is real.  Heaven and earth was made by His hand.  Do you know Him?  Does He look upon you?  Have you read His word?  Does it make you tremble?

Verse two ends with a prescription of to whom God will look upon.  Only those willing to submit with a broken heart, tembling  at His word.  Earlier in the book  (chap 61) we read “For I the LORD love justice”.  The scriptures are clear the all of humanity has sinned against GOD and death will be a punishment for those iniquities.  Have you broken the commandments even once.  Have you lied, stolen anything, looked at a person who is not your spouse with sexual desire – Jesus said that you have committed adultery in your heart.  If you have just done those things one time you are a lying, thieving, aduterer.  You will be guilty on judgement day and God, who is just, will condemn you to eternity in Hell.

This is not what God wants or desires, but He must uphold His perfect, holy law.  This brings me to the greatest loving plan ever designed.  Jesus Christ – God with us – perfect man, perfect God – went to a horrible death on a cross to take the punishment you deserve for your sins.  He was beaten, spat upon, tortured, whipped and nailed to a cross for YOU.  He died in your place.  After three days He rose from the dead and is alive and is very willing to have you as a part of His family.  You must humble yourself  with a contrite, broken spirit and repent and confess your sins to Him and He is faithful to forgive you of every wrong, sinful thing you have ever done.  He will give you a new heart with new desires and His perfect Holy Spirit to help you live your days here on earth.  If that wasn’t enough, when you die and face Him on the day of judgement, God will see you as His child, remembering the payment His son Jesus made on your behalf.

Please read His word and tremble.  Call out to God in humility and He will answer.  Isaiah ends with a tremendous warning to all who do not believe.  I plead with you – repent - trust the Lord Jesus Christ and spend all eternity with your creator.

Witnessing in Jerusalem, eh?

Monday, January 19th, 2009

“…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” ~ Jesus (Acts 1:8, ESV)

I said it before and I’ll say it again…while we praise God for missionaries who are taking the to the ends of the earth, what about Jerusalem – er, I mean – Canada, eh?

I used to be shocked when I’d meet young adults like Brandon and John…used to be. Born, raised, and breathing day-to-day in a “Christian” country called Canada without ever having set foot in a church and never having heard the . Yet, almost every Saturday of soul-winning the Lord graciously confirms His call for our ministry by showing us again and again that there is also much local missions work to be done for the Him right here at home.
