Studio Growing Pains

Well good day all! You may have noticed that we’re broadcasting some repeats again. Right now we’re in the middle of the very informative series “What Is A Christian.”  Now if I remember correctly, this is the first series we ever decided we had to do based on us being shocked by what we learned from people on the street. It’s three years later, and I’m sad to say that the series doesn’t shock me any more. However, I’m very pleased to say that this short series shows with amazing clarity just how important the Church’s mission of preaching the Gospel to every person is. Listening to these interviews again makes me sure I need to tell you all to take the call to preach the Gospel seriously.

We’ve been switching all of our production over to Macintosh, and the transition has actually been going pretty good. However, the sound card that Cory uses in the studio has completed it’s slow decay and become a lump of unhelpful metal. The plan all along was to pick up something from Apogee, and we’ve settled on the Apogee ONE. I use this in my studio, and it makes sense that Cory does the same where he is. These are the less expensive cousin of the much loved Apogee DUET. At just $285 it really is a great deal for a great sounding product. However, we have to save up to get it.

So for last week, and this week Cory is recording his commentary using the same microphone we use on the street, the amazing Zoom H2. Now this puppy sounds great, but it doesn’t compare to a studio mic at all. So please forgive the sound of these couple of shows. We’re working on it.

In the mean time, if you’ve got an Apogee ONE to spare please send it our way! And if you feel burdened to help us get one before we start recording our next series, “Upon This Rock” which is about the Roman Catholic Religion, then please do so! We need to start recording Cory’s commentary by Monday 29 March 2010.

For Christ, and His Gospel
