A Prayer Station of Humble Beginnings

Last night we set up a prayer station on the street for the very first time…and we experienced humble beginnings to say the least! But, thankfully, whether we stand at a prayer station or just walk through the park “business as usual”, the Lord is always gracious to make our feet beautiful for preaching His precious Gospel!
The prayer station attracted an entirely different “clientele” than we’re used to hosting on the streets of our hometown. The first to approach the station was a middle aged man by the name of Jack. Jack claimed to be a “blood bought Christian”, however, as we started to talk about what God truly saved us from on the Cross, I become increasingly more concerned about Jack’s eternal well being – and so did he. (*To learn more about what God primarily saved us from on the Cross, click here and listen to the message entitled “Contemplating the Cross”). After I shared the biblical Gospel with Jack, he then allowed me to pray with him.
Next, a young lady by the name of Nichole approached the station to ask whether she could have a Bible. “Of course!” I replied. “Are you a Christian?” Nichole said she was a Christian, yet she also held to an eclectic sort of faith about Jesus and reincarnation. As I began to talk with her about the holiness of God and our sinfulness in His sight, her countenance changed from very flippant to very fearful. After our conversation, Nichole thanked me and also asked whether I could help her by referring her to a Christian counselor for drug addiction. In fact, we had THREE PEOPLE IN A ROW ask us the same question! Ever feel as though the Lord is trying to tell you something? Well, stay tuned for more information on putting together a Gospel Outreach team in your church who will preach the Gospel while practically serving the needs of those your community.
Anyhow, we again thank God for the many great Gospel encounters He allowed us to have last night. And though our prayer station debut was somewhat humbling…I’d also say that it was a smash hit! However, prayer booth or no prayer booth, we praise God that everytime we step out in faith He always comes through!
PS: We’ll be adding more to our prayer station and sharing more of our experiences right here in the weeks to come, but in the meantime, click here for a GREAT instructional video on setting up your own prayer station, courtesy of my good friend and mentor, Tony “The Lawman” Miano.
For His Glory,
Cory
